Peregrine is a survival game in which you are going to survive. As a tribe’s leader, you are responsible for guiding your people through a beautiful and changing landscape. Your goal is a promised land–but like so many trips, this one is about the journey, not the destination.

At Peregrine‘s heart is the work of the incomparable Lea Liu. Lea provided cheerful, evocative 2D art which was incorporated into 3D landscapes. The result is a distinctive and stylish world which is a joy to explore.

Players look out upon that world through a 16:6 aspect ratio letterbox. This cinematic view focuses player attention on the horizon, emphasizing the goal of exploration. A fixed, forward-facing camera reinforces that theme.

Peregrine was a team effort. I was fortunate to be able to work with Lea, Alexander King, and Ziyin Liao. I contributed to both the system design and the code.
