Theory: Decisions about Die Rolls

Just a little thing I noticed: decisions about die rolls made before the roll is made are all about risk. They’re exciting and unpredictable.

By contrast, decisions made after dice are rolled are all about allocation. Optimization, rather than thrills, is the focus.
